Hello, my friends, a brand new year comes with a brand new issue of The Attic! I hope you all had a fun and lovely entrance to the new year!
We start 2023 with a mysterious children illustrator, a picture of two best friends, an ad about heaven and hell, a lovely mountainy poster, a funny interview, a picture book of strange sights and a postcard wishing you a happy new year!
✧ An illustrator: Cynthia Amrine ✧
Cynthia Amrine is another mysterious illustrator whose info I couldn't find.
I came across her work with this collection of Posters made to teach children how to use a library. These cute characters stole my heart.
I know, super cute, huh? I particularly love the limited palette and also love the way she used space. All in all, it's a super nice finding and I feel like if I've found a big treasure!
✧ A picture: Best friends ✧
I love this picture, in fact it inspired me to create a series of illustrations of kids and animals from old pictures (in my mind I did it just a couple of years ago, but no, it was in 2019). You can check them out here if you’re curious.
✧ An ad: Martini ✧
✧ A place: The Dolomites ✧
Such a lovely color palette!
✧ A short: The Interview ✧
✧ A book: A Dragon in a Wagon ✧
Such strange sights indeed!! And also… very cute!
✧ A postcard: Gott nytt år ✧
With those, the first issue of 2023 is finished. I hope you have a relaxed and inspired Sunday! And if you like the newsletter, why not share it with a friend? :)
