The Attic #21 ✦ Saint-Geniès
Bon dia! 🌞
A new month means a new dose of inspiring bits! Today we have another mysterious poster artist, a construction from two rings, a detective comic, a hot summer ad, a TV commercial full of tricks, a cute wooden toy and a floral book from 1893! I hope you like them :)
✧An artist: Saint-Geniès✧
Francis de Saint-Geniès (1925 - 2018)
I came across these lovely advertisements for Philips in one of my searches and when I wanted to get some info on the artist, I found a painter named Francis de Saint-Geniès, whose work is so different from the style of these old ads that I initially thought they were done by two different artists.
I did some more research, on various auction sites, and apparently it is the same artist behind the posters (as always, if someone has more info on that, I’d appreciate it), which is awesome! I love finding artists with different art styles!
✧A sculpture: Construction from Two Rings✧
✧A comic: Kokeshi Detective Agency✧
✧A magazine ad: Hot Summer Coming✧
✧A commercial: Bag of tricks✧
✧A toy: Wooden Soldier and Horse✧
✧A book: Festons und Decorative Gruppen aus Pflanzen und Thieren✧
I found this book to be quite strange but also nice, so a nice strangeness I’d say. Some compositions are quite interesting, especially the floral/leafy ones!
Okay, that's it for today! I hope you find these bits of your liking and whether you’re on holidays or working, I hope you enjoy August!
Also I wanted to thank you all for subscribing and for your support, every month there’s new people here and that makes me happy :)
